ir3ip amateur radio development
Glossary: "amateur radio" is usually abbreviated with "hamradio", and hamradio people are normally
called "OMs".
In this page, some
hamradio software projects are shown.
They are useful for OMs who administrate their
ham gateways.
What are
ham gateways? They are servers, connected both to
internet and
hamradio packet radio
network. Yes, OMs began to exchange IP datagrams in the late 1984 through their network made by
nodes (located in the top of mountains) radio connected each other: data link uses
AX.25 protocol
and permits connection and connectionless links.
Now there are several hamradio gateways in the world, which permit hams to exchange informations
theyself, and offer several services accessable in the web.
An example of hamradio gateway is
www.ir3ip.net, located
in Treviso (Italy), which uses the software shown below for their services.

Introduction
What are QSL? They are postal cards used to confirm connections between OMs.
When two OMs made a long radio connection, they usually exchange a card within their personal
and connection informations, and a pretty photo.
This software, written in PHP4, permits users to store their QSL in a webserver and viewing
stored QSL sorted by country.
